Subject: Chiclet: it looks more like she has JL

It turns out Lucky had an adrenal tumor. He had surgery this a.m. to remove
it and his first dose of Lupron to help shrink his prostate. Thanks for the
help!

Chiclet's re-cytology for a nodal aspirate isn't in yet, but her
blood work that I told about over the phone is highly suggestive of
lymphoma: lymphocytes (if memory serves) over 13,000, anemia, etc. I
should have taken notes but it hit me like a ton of bricks and I am
still not thinking straight. I can ask for a copy of her reports
when the ultrasound is done if that helps anyone.

The next step is that she will have an ultrasound. If the growths
are elsewhere that will affect what is done and if she will have a
full nodal biopsy or an ultrasound guided core biopsy, and what will
done in relation to chemo.

It sounds like she may have one of the those unusual JLs that Dr.
Ruth Heller and a different FHL member mentioned: one very enlarged
popletial node, blood found when soem of the aspirate was taken, high
fever. We hope that there are not growths abdominally.

So far, we can keep her fever down in reasonable levels most of the
time. It gets to its worst in the 6 or so hours before her Baytril
injection and then we use water and cool tiles to help.

She is not usually eating kibble now but readily takes babyfood or
a/d with warmed water. In fact, she has found that chicken baby food
is maybe her favorite taste in the world and she wolfs it.
