Subject: Aggressiveness sign of adrenal in male ferret?

Within the last month and a half, I have noticed that my eldest male - between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 yrs - has been getting very active and sometimes territorial. He has displayed marked aggression towards objects he never did before and has lost at least two ounces within the last month.
Within the past week I felt a firm mass on his left side. I'm not sure if it is an enlarged spleen or adrenal...
I have read that aggressiveness in males is usually the first sign that is shown for adrenal in males. Is this true?
He shows no other obvious signs of adrenal, but adrenal often goes undiagnosed in males for a longer period of time...perhaps because their signs of adrenal aren't as obvious as females?

He has an appt for his dental cleaning this coming Tuesday and before that happens, the doc will exmaine him and take blood for some tests. Should I also ask for x-rays?
Any advice would be welcome.
