I had the same thing happen to my little girl, but her initial vet visit wa=
s at about 7 months. Same symptoms and same response from my not-ferret-kn=
owledgeable vet (he told us it was probably the flu). We gave her the anti=
biotics and she seemed to get a little better, but then about 4 months late=
r she took a drastic turn for the worse. One night she suddenly could bare=
ly take three steps without laying down, was breathing heavy, and was just =
very, very weak. We took her to an emergency vet who gave her some fluids =
and gave us medicine for her, which perked her up for about an hour, but by=
the next morning she was worse than ever. We took her to a ferret-knowled=
geable vet recommended by the emergency vet and it turned out that she had =
JL. She was too weak and didn't make it through surgery, and I will always=
wonder if we would have caught it sooner if we could have saved her. Anyw=
ay, I would suggest that you take her to a vet that knows ferrets (I don't =
know how experienced your vet is, but I would think if he knew ferrets he w=
ould want to do a little more testing) and get a full check-up. Best of lu=
ck with your little darling.
