You've already had some good thoughts. Only thing I can add, and it's not
much and your vets almost surely already have figured this in, is that
heart disease can cause the feet to swell. A heart ultrasound could
diganose that, if no other cause is found... Not at all sure that would
cause the lameness, though. No idea how that could fit in with the fever,
though, unless there was something like endocarditis... It's a very
perplexing thing - keep the list posted. Sounds like your docs are doing
a good job.
