Hi everyone and thank you Sharon for your input, it was very helpful. This
case is somewhat different as this didn't result from a seizure. This was a
neglected/abandoned ferret who went untreated for what we assume was a length of
time. I'm not sure if that makes a difference in her long term recovery
prognosis but it was stressed to me that this was a result of continual starvation
of the nerves. I will be taking her to a vet who works with a physical
therapist just in case. I was given 3 terms- glucopenia, hypoglycemic neuropathy
and peripheral neuropathy and given basically nothing to hope for. I've seen
minor improvements already, she's certainly not in pain and seems to be a happy
and loving ferret so I refuse to give up hope.
I've found essentially nothing specifically pertaining to ferrets, mainly
humans and dogs. If anyone stumbles across anything let me know!
