Sukie,

thank you --
here are your questions:

1. Have you considered doing a chest x-ray and possibly also a chest ultrasound?

we did an x-ray and vet thought heart looked good. should i do chest x-ray?

2. Has she had a recent CBC with Blood Chemistry done?

yes -- here are values
everything was in normal range, except for following:

Chem Panel
CK 966 (high)
Protein 8.0 (high)
Globulin 4.2 (high)
Glucose 71 (low)
Calcium 10.1 (high)

CBC
WBC 7.1 (high)
RBC 12.30 (high)
HGB 19.7 (high)
HCT 62.6 (high)
MCV 51 (?)
MCH 16.1 (?)
MCHC 31.4 (?)

Neutrophil Seg 63 (high)
Monocytes 4 (high)
Eosinophil 5 (high)
Auto platelet adequate
polychromasia slight

also said that
"blood smear revealed adequate platelet numbers. some cells are degenerated. differential my be affected. cells do not appear toxic or reactive."
I can include the other values, too but these were all within normal range. I only mentioned above the values that were out of normal range.

3. Have you considered a nodal aspirate?

Can you describe a nodal aspirate? My vet mentioned a biopsy, but did not think it was necessary. Is this similar?
thank you so much for looking at this. In addition, is there a link for describing what the values in the Blood Panel mean?
thank you,
Courtney

i have had a LOT of people ask me about interpretations of Blood
Values in the last three days (not joking -- I even confused two of
them with each other because they have the same first name and
similar questions -- these same questions are appearing in a flood in
my mailbox from many people and I am NOT the best person to ask about
these).

So, I have great news (and a worthwhile inclusion on lists of useful
URLs): Mike Janke has exactly the site all these folks need at
http://miamiferret.org/fhc/physiology.htm
so people can go there to answer the questions they didn't know they
were going to have during their vet appointments or vet phone calls.
