First of all, good job on asking for help! That's a good sign in a
new owner. There are lots of experienced people here and on the FML
and other places who are more than willing to help out.

Since Sukie didn't say this outright, I will. Get rid of the Kaytee
Fiesta today. Don't even hesitate. In my opinion, that stuff ought
to be outlawed. It's full of dried fruits and veggies that at best
provide NO nutritional benefit for ferrets, and at worst can cause
fatal blockages since ferrets cannot digest some of them. Ferrets
have evolved to require a strictly carnivorous diet, and Fiesta is one
of the worst things you can feed them. (No personal blame implied
here - we all tend to think that if it's on the shelf it must be ok.
No, I blame only the Kaytee company.)

The S&G food is good, and you can mix in some of the others that Sukie
mentioned if you like. If you change foods, take it slow since
ferrets will not usually switch foods quickly.

Many things could cause the kind of cough you're describing. If it's
occasional it's usually not a concern, but since his cough is so
regular, you will probably want to take him to your vet. Ferrets
explore the world with their noses and mouths - it's fairly common for
them to pick up respiratory infections or even mild pneumonia.

As for the couch, we feel for you. I might suggest giving him a
large, comfy box that provides a space similar to the couch for him to
play in. Or exchange the couch for a futon or something similar.
Unfortunately many of us have had to take the latter approach
ourselves. Ferrets do love to tunnel into dark spaces.
