Subject: possible drop in blood glucose?

Is it possible for a severe infection to cause a drop in blood
glucose in a ferret?

I know that some of the unusual malignancies like leiomyosarcoma have
done so in members of carnivora.

She was acting worse again the last few days (and the node may be
very slightly larger) but we didn't panic till today because she was
being a little active only about every 3 days but today was longer
than that interval, and I just figured that what-the-heck even though
she hates sugar we'd try Nutrical again and she had a lift, but not a
slow one. It was immediate. Three times today we have managed that
result again by giving it and she actually broke into a trot at one
point which is amazing for a 6 month old who had barely moved before
the sugar.

(This is a ferret with what is thought to most likely be a serious
infection but no one knows for sure. The other nodes are still down;
please, see past posts over the last 2 and 1/2 weeks for history.)
