Dodie, due to the cardio he may have thrown a clot (thrombosis) and since he isn't having symptoms other than the one leg it may be lodged there. In this case he should have vet evaluation and loads of massage all thorugh the day following the clot to help the clot dissapate in small enough pieces. The vet may also try a gentle anticoagulant like a little aspirin, but you will have to watch carefully since some ferrets don't do well with anticoagulants. Our experience with thromboses thrown to a leg was a good one -- no lasting problems.

Do NOT give Pred.

The vet may also want to adjust the cardio meds; as the heart changes during the course of the illness adjustments are needed not only in dose but in other meds added, and that could reduce the chances of this happening again.
