I'm hoping for a coincidence.

If it is not a coincidence it could be important that we aren't all that far apart since we are in neighboring states, so there may even be something in our area carried by flying insects or something, or perhaps the ferrets were held at the same distributor's.

I'm still hoping for coincidence.

We are waiting for the latest test results. Usually they have something back more rapidly. If this means that they found something funny and have had to do further tests maybe that will turn out to be a good thing.

None of the other ferrets here have gotten this whatever it is; we sure haven't either. There is no indication of easy contagion, or even of contagion from exposure to waste.

I did have someone write to me in a panic, having decided that anything with a fever must be like this, but as Dr. Heller points out it's not just the fever but the unusual node presentation and test results that count, and that so far all of the ferrets involved are kits.

Chiclet still eats rather well and drinks pretty well after a month of this but she remains exceedingly tired and we all are still mystified.

...and I'm still hoping for coincidence, but if the grouping of similar things (not just fever and not things very different) is seen by anyone else it had best be shared...
