At this point Chiclet is being treated as if it is a massive
bacterial infection (which is what is generally thought, though
mycobacteria luckily is probably unlikely (pers. com.) but being
checked to be safest). We'll see if the next pathology things coming
in help further.

If it is fungal then other meds will have to be started.

She is now slightly improved: "kind of flat" which is better than
totally flat which she got to, and she is accepting one type of treat
very readily from strangers plus she is looking cute for them that
also says "not totally flat now". Her fever is high once more, and
she is on Iv and now on the following meds (with Baytril maybe also
to be added later today depending on if the further test results can
be gotten today and what a consultant who is good with infectious
diseases in ferrets says). Right now she is on (Forgive any spelling
errors, please) Coamphenocol and Ampicillin and Vanimen looked likely
to be added.

Hopefully, she will make it; any degree of improvement looks hopeful
to us right now though we know this could go either way just as it
could anytime during the last month.

It would sure help if we knew what it was; then it would be easier to
treat, but we all keep trying and that is all that anyone can do.

Thanks to those who have written with things that seemed similar and
what worked. None have matched so far, but maybe one will at some
point, and I sure do appreciate that folks have cared so much and
tried. That means a great deal. (Yes, I know I thanked you
privately, but a second thank you doesn't hurt in context and it lets
others know that there are things which are similar but apparently
different.)
