Thank you Dr. Williams so much for taking the time to
respond to our questions. Phoebe has been through so
much and you have helped us several times in the past
with ECE and bleeding ulcers! If Phoebe is not a
surgical candidate then would Lupron help? The right
was not totally removed, the vet took out as much as
he could. Pathology showed squamous cell carcinoma.
This was about 5 yrs ago. It is the itching and
obsessive grooming that is making her so uncomfortable
and me too! Since our vets are not so great with ferts
we will not subject her to further blood work. If you
recommend carafate over pepcid we will go back to the
carafate. When will we know it is time for the subQ?
How much and how often? It will be hard with no blood
work I suppose? We are giving her pet tinic .25 bid.
My husband is a nurse and cytologist so he will be
doing subQ if needed. I am just wondering how far
advanced you think this might be. I just don't know
what to expect and I want to be prepared. We do not
want her to suffer at all, but the thought of putting
her to sleep make me so very sad. The vets (all 3 of
them) have pronounced her dead about 6 times and every
time she has pulled through. I realize this is not an
addisonian crisis, bleeding ulcer, kidney
infection...i just want to continue to provide her
with a good quality of life. You and Dr. Weiss have
helped in the past and it is a great comfort to
receive your advice. Your opinion is valued and we
know that we have gotten advice from people who know
what they are talking about. Again saying thank you is
just not enough! Phoebe has been such a joy in our
lives and just today she enjoyed damaging a pair of my
new shoes! She still has a strong will to live. we
will follow her lead.
Sincerely,
Kelly and Sean Foran And Phoebe
