One option is to get a non-fasting BG first when her vet appointment takes place along wiith all of a CBC with blood chemistry. Then if there is something overt with her blood glucose you'd know and would not need to consider fasting her, or if there is something else going on you may get a warning before trying fasting. It's gotten to the point where the only BGs we fast are ones where the non-fasting BG doesn't indicate insulinoma but the behavior does. In that case fasting works best to know what is going on.
