I have a 5 1/2 yr old female , whom I found with blood coming out of her mouth. At first I thought It was dental disease. I took her to a very good ferret vet, who tested her blood and found her to be extremely anemic. He put her on carafate and epogen every other day for a week. She also has small black tarry stools. I am making her eat gruel through a dropper. She takes ferretvite readily. Has anyone ever dealt with this? Is it hopeless? When I take her back to the vet in a week, do I put her through more tests if this treatment doesn't work? Through all of this I still get kissess!!! Are they wonderful creatures or what!!!!!!!!
