>From what I've read Aleutian Disease is a mutated strain of the Canine
Parvo Virus. if this is indeed the case I am wondering what kind of
danger Ferrets are in, if there is, or has been Parvo in the area. For
example, our neighbors across the street have had dogs that have had
Parvo. They claim that one of their puppy's has survived a bout with it
through the skilled hands of their Vet. Since I don't know how Parvo is
transmitted, I am quite concerned as to the safety of both our dog and
our ferrets. I am also wondering if Ferrets can get Parvo from dogs or
people that have been around dog that have or have had Parvo. The
children of this neighbor have been in our home, and I'm concerned about
whether or not this is a hazard to our Ferrets. I have also been to the
Vets office when there has been a pup that was brought in to be put down
because of Parvo. Perhaps one of the Veterinarians that monitor the group
can shed some light on my concerns.
Thanks Rick
