I concur on the use of towels or rags for bedding. We have big beach towels
and our kids sleep under them all the time!

One thing I would like to voice some disagreement over though is the use of
clumping litter. We have used clumping litter for over 4 years. It is very
easy to clean with a scoop. I too was concerned about the scooting behavior at
first, as it was mentioned in literature as a potential problem for blockages,
etc., but I noticed that my ferrets scoot after going to the bathroom OUTSIDE
of the litter pan.

We have had no problems with the clumping litter and it seems to be the
easiest to work with. We have two ferrets and make sure we empty the litter AT
LEAST once a day!

Sorry for the difference in opinion...my actual experience with the clumping
litter has been different from the speculation suggested by those who have not
actually used the product.
