We have a 5 year old ferret who would only eat meow mix, I know bad food! We had tried him on every ferret and cat food there was. Then they changed it, the red dyed food looked darker. It made his throw up and he would not eat. We bought another bag and that made him sick too. We tried about ten other foods and he wouldn't eat any of them. Finally we looked at the serial number on the bag of the last food he ate that was good. We bought all the bags of food that had close to the same UPC code and he would eat those. I don't know whether it was the first few numbers or last that were the same. If you have the last good box of food you could try to compare UPC numbers with others at the store. After a while we could find the same numbers and we got him to eat Kit-and-Kaboodles which is the same thing. But last bag he wouldn't eat so i had to get another and he's eating that. Ferrets are really sensitive to dyes or oils in the food.

> My 3 year old ferret stopped eating eating 8-in-1 Ultra Blend Ferret Food. She has been eating it for the last 2 years and has been fine. After we ran out of her last bag, we bought a new one and she would not eat it. We went to the store and got her a differnt bag that had a darker color kible that the one she wouldn't eat (still same brand). She eat that one and then we ran out of that one. Went back to the store all we could find was the lighter color stuff and she wont eat it. It could be that 8-in-1 changed the recepie and that is why she wont eat it, we don't really know nor does the pet store.
> Our problem now is that she wont eat anything. We have bought two other kind of ferret food (totally ferret and another one), but she wont eat those either! She is getting really skinny. I don't know what to do? Does anyone have a recomended food that ferrets like and will eat?
