Hi, I'm new and was informed this was a very educational group to be a part of! My 1 1/2 year old ferret has just been diagnosed with moderate IBD and also shows pre-cancerous signs. We are currently waiting on his results for the heliobactor before we can start him on an everyday dose of immuran. My vet discussed the possibility of the biopsy being inaccurate as to the degree my ferret has the cancer. My question is, if we put him on an immunosuppressive, could that escalate the cancer if it is beyond a certain amount? If anyone could also explain their experiences/advice with IBD, that would be greatly appreciated. The information on it seems somewhat vague and ambiguous so I would like to understand better what's happening to my little Marcel. Thank you for any help you can provide!
