Dear Friends,
We've got a little guy with bad teeth, and a slew of other problems one of
which is adrenal. He was on 22.7mg of Baytril 2x a day for 14 days about four
weeks ago. On about the 15th or 16th day, when I was expressing him out came
dark green sludgy urine. I took him to the vet immediately. She took all the
urine out with a syringe and took urine for a urinalisys. She never gave me those
results. I was suspicious of the antibiotic because it was the only thing we
were doing differently. Well, he went back on the Baytril again yesterday for
his teeth. I told the Dr. that I had been suspicious of this antibiotic
causeing the sludge before. She said she didn't think it would. Well, he's only had
two doses and already his urine has that brown/green color. I have a call into
her but was wondering if anyone else had seen this before. I had bloodwork
done for him about 4 weeks ago, by another Dr., we use two, one 5 minutes away
and one with more advanced equip about an hour away. His kidney values were
slightly elevated. I have the Dr. who did the bloodwork sending it to the Dr.
we're working with now. Should I be concerned about his kidney's and this
antibiotic? Although he didn't get blocked up before with this sludgy urine, I'm
worried about that now. He has adrenal problems and gets the Lupron shot. He's
gotten to the point where he couldn't go but a few drops before. That's what
started the Lupron. The sludge didn't show up until after the 14 day treatment
before and it's occured this time after two tabs. Any thoughts?
Thanks a million.

Sorry if this is not structured well. I've been getting up at 2:30 am to feed
this little guy because of insulinoma for a year now. 3rd degree AV heart
block so we can't operate. Constantly sleep deprived.
