The cream that Sukie istalking about is called
EMLA, it is put on post surgical elective patients, it numbs the area
where they will have lines put in. My daughter tells me it is a
lydocaine base cream, and definitly prescription only. In the hospitals
it comes on a pre-medicated disc, like a small bandage that you just put
over the area you want numbed.
Never knew this could be used for the ferrets
There is also a liquid spray that is used by orthopedic doctors, works
faster, but has a very short duration. Can't remember the name of it off
hand, but it is used by many athletes when they are performing and
injured. This might be something else available to ferrets. I think it
is similar to the numbing stuff they put on your ears when you get them
pierced.
