I'm not a vet, but since the problem responds to sugar I personally
doubt the Pred is the problem, though strange responses can certainly
happen for things.

It may be that the Pred dose is simply wearing off before her next
one is processed by her body. Pred can be given as often as every 8
hours. Prednisolone is utilized more easily than Prednisone because
it skips the liver processing step.

This *IS* something that you *SHOULD* discuss with your vet *BEFORE*
changing your actions. The dose, timing, or med may need adjusting
or Proglycem may need to be added. Call your vet and request a
call-back.

Is there a reason why surgery wasn't done? That may really be your best shot.
