I'm not sure how long there should be between major surgeries like that, but I have to say that Butter probably shouldn't have had the opportunity to be out roaming around so soon after such major surgery. They really don't know what's best for them and he should have still been confined in very small area with plenty of material to stay warm until he has had time to recover. At least a week, though I personally wait until the sutures are removed. I don't know if this contributed to his collapse, but why take the chance.

When he comes home, consider confining him for much needed rest and recovery no matter how much he may appear to want to come out.
