With a sore throat it pays to try a very watered down soup made with ababy food or a/d since those are very,v ery smooth, but to also try different temperatures than you normally would. Warmed may go over, but it may be that refrigerated may work best since it can be soothing like ice cream is on a human sore throat. Steve and I jokingly call the babyfoods "Ferret Ice Cream" when we give them cooled.

It may be that dripping the food in front of the ferret's mouth using something like the Dr. Clown" dropper discussed earlier (See the Complete Archives at http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org.) so that the ferret or a sqeezable bottle with the tip cut larger.

When or if the ferret can manage larger sizes try baby food at the ferret's preferred temps for a sore throat.

Year's ago we had one with something very different; Ruffle's esophagus was low down impinged upon by her diseased heart. In her case Sustical (which is like Ensure) was what she was able to take in for her most concentrated calories and she did well on it during her last weeks. It wasn't optimal by any means but it gave her extra quality time while she was terminal.
