Hi everyone,
I have two ferrets (brothers) that seem to have had two different
looking sorts of "bumps" appear on their back legs. One ferret has one that came
up, that initially was itchy... it is pink, and looks just like a human pink
mole. It's high up, a little bumpy and about the size a 12 font type written
letter character. He has stopped itching it I think. It hasn't grown much
since it has gotten to this size. When it appeared, it almost looked like a
tooth mark from another ferret biting him. I think, that that was because he
itched it terribly at first.
The second ferret, got a sort of lesion also at around the same time.
This one is a little smaller. It is very tall above the skin. It is round,
very symetrical, but it is dark brown/blue. The color bothers me. He doesn't
seem to itch it all. There is not only no hair on it, but no hair right
around it.
These animals are almost 5 now. Both have neural crest disorders. Do
these bumps and growths seem familiar to anyone? Mast cell tumors of the
skin, I thought were more flat, crusty, and ominous looking..... plus grew fast.
Am I mistaken?
