Yes, that's certainly a unique diagnosis. I think you will want to
get a second opinion from another vet, especially if you can find one
who regularly handles ferrets.

A "chordoma turning into a mast cell tumor" certainly sounds
suspicious. Even if both *are* really there, that doesn't mean
they're related.

Mast cell tumors in ferrets are almost always of the benign cutaneous
variety. You don't hear much about malignant internal mastocytomas in
ferrets.

Could Trixie be the rare case? Sure she could. But the chances are
low enough that you really ought to have a different vet - and a
different lab and pathologist - take a look.

You can search for colloidal silver in the FHL archives. I seem to
remember it has been discussed several times. You may find some
discussion of it in the FML archives, too. I don't use the stuff,
myself.
