Yes, it could be something else, but there are many causes of
diarrhea and of vomiting: having eaten something that should not be
eaten, having an infection, having a parasite... even insulinoma can
cause the runs at times.
It worries me that you say that he is lethargic, but it is a real
boost that you have found a very fluidy thing that he will eat. If
he stops eating or drinking get an emergency appointment because he
needs food, but he needs fluids and a decent electrolyte balance even
more and the combination can cause havoc with those. Dehydration is
very dangerous. Can you get Pedialyte or Kayolyte or one of the
similar liquids into him if the runs and vomiting continue?
