I have no personal referrences for these vets, but I have always been very impressed with the information on ferrets on the website for Long Beach Animal Hospital... www.lbah.com
They seem to be very knowledgeable about the medical problems in ferrets and also in proper treatment, surgical procedures, pre and post surgical care, etc. I don't know where Long Beach is in relation to Riverside, but I can't imagine anywhere in California is more than 8 hours from anywhere else in CA.
