Iam so confused>Our vet wants us to take Jigs to our local vet and have his glucose rechecked when he hasn't just eaten. Is he saying that perhaps Jigs is not insulinomic? and do wehave the ultrasound done???and how much is that?? Jigs is no better. I did give him 1/2 cc of pedia pred at 6 this morning and we think he may have been a little perkier at his 10:00 feeding however he doesn't seem to be eating as much recipe and with five other ferrets I'm not sure if he's eating kibble. He DID go and snatch a couple of chicken snaffers and eat those and went upstairs but wants to sleep. Why can't we at least try some of the meds for heart trouble without an ultrasound? Larry said his heart is pumping but not pumping blood on every beat and that that is why he is so tired? we live in a very small town and finding someone to do an ultrasound is going to be quite a ways away and very expensive I'm sure. too bad the docs for people around here wouldn't slip him in.
