Hi not all the vets wait on that because if you wait it will most likely end up worse for the ferret (and your wallet!).
That is why surgery (while it is still not a large tumour and NOT invading other organs) is often the best option. It is the standard procedure for my vet up here (now!).

The problem with Lupron is that it only masks the problem and does NOTHING to cure the tumour. At MOST it will delay the inevitable in only SOME ferrets. In addition, the cost for you to treat your ferret over the next two years with Lupron will be MORE than the price of a proper surgery.

I'm not a vet but perhaps you need to find another vet who will know more about ferrets. I think a 2nd opinion is definately in order. Give your favourite pet a chance at life. Also, remember than in the later stages of the disease your pet will not likely have a good quality of life.

I wish you luck and will hope things work out.

She also said there's one bloodtest which is very expensive in Tenessee(US) but it's not really necessary. She wants me to take an appointment for Cookie in a month so we will be able to see ... How come vets seems always to wait in Adrenal Disease? Is-it to be sure of the diagnostic?

I didn't find Bartonella (Used the same spelling you did so if there
is a variant you'll need to search on that.) in ferrets mentioned
that resource, the FML Archives, or a few vet texts.
