Our vets over the last 10 years or so usually prefer to wait if it's
not clearly adrenal, and these are/were ferret vets and very good
ones.

As with Patty and her vets the wait is less likely to happen if the
ferret is male.

We have one male, now, though, who is on Lupron because we didn't
know if he had an adrenal growth or fur loss from Pred use due to
long term IBD. There is no fur growth. He will be opened up this
summer, though, because even if his adrenals are normal some GI
specimens can be gotten which wil be useful since his IBD is
worsening.
