Terra,
In my experience with teeth grinding in ferrets it is almost always
ulcers. When a ferret is grinding thier teeth it is a sure sign of tummy discomfort.
My most recent experience with the teeth grinding ended with my ferret going
in for emergency surgery, her duodenum was thickened and blocked all of her
food from leaving her tummy and she became bloated and was in a lot of pain, she
would grind her teeth pretty much round the clock. She also had diarrhea and
vomiting. Tissue was sent off for a biopsy, it came back not cancer but she
was dx'd with inflammatory bowel syndrome and that is why the duodenum was
thickened. She is doing real well now after spending five days in intensive care at
the animal hospital, you would never know she was near death two weeks ago.
Take the little one to the vet and have it checked out because something is
causing the teeth grinding. Pawing at the mouth can also be a sign of insulinoma.

Holly
