This is only what we have personally encountered: we have had a
number of ferrets through the years who reacted to distemper vaccines
(luckily none reacting to Purevax, yet) without reacting to rabies
vaccines, but our two who reacted to rabies vaccines also reacted to
distemper vaccines. In their case they were probably allergic to a
common component (same as one who reacted to two distemper vaccines),
perhaps in the matrix the vaccines were in, rather than reacting to a
component only found in one vaccine. So, yes, it can happen, but it
is not assured of happening by any means.
