Subject: ferrets in California

My name is Becky and I was just reading on a website that there are road bloacks in California on the main highways searching for ferrets. My husband is in the military and there is a chance that we might get stationed in Monterey next year and we are worried about our babies. We have 5 ferrets and do not want to part with them. Do you have any suggestions on how we can manage to get them there safely? Also, does anyone know of any good vets in California that they can trust and won't turn you in for having them? We would appreciate any help we can get. Thanks
