I have 5 that have chronic respitory infection. The vets kept telling me that they wouldn't get any better. This went on for well over a year and it was from the psudomonos that they had earlier in their lives.

My husband had gotten the psudo too and has permanent chronic respitory problems. The doctor finally gave him Zithromax and it worked. It would come back so he had to take it longer than the normal time but anytime he starts to get the upper respitory trouble he just takes the Zithromax and it works.

I was talking to my vet about it and she hadn't heard of it being used on ferrets but thought it was a good idea. She looked it up and said it was there.

Anyway, Wolfie gets better for 3 and 4 months at a time after taking the zithromax suspension for a week.
Toby and Cher have to take it for 15 days at a time and be off of it for 3 - 4 weeks and go back on for 15 days.

2 of the others haven't had to have more after their 15 day dosage.

I'm not a vet but I sure have visited mine enough:)

I hope your vet will try this for you and I hope it works.
We did the drugs that you talked about with the same results that you have had. It is so discouraging to try so hard and them not show signs of improvement.

Good luck with your little one. I'll send positive thoughts to you and yours.

Sincerely,
Lois
