This doesn't sound like a straight forward case at all.
What would help if you can give more details of the ferret's past
history,
any medical problems, diet and any loose stools, vomiting, lack of
appetite,etc leading up to the crashes.

If you post the actual lab results that helps too.

You vet could consult a ferret specialist if at a loss as well.

Dexamethasone is a steroid, I am not sure how it is working in this case.
Insulinoma comes to mind, but a blood test should have proved this one.
While she was unresponsive or during this crash was a blood glucose
checked?
