Thank you, Sukie, for checking into this.

I considered a blood problem or lymphoma but didn't want to jump to
conclusions or assume the worst. Though I was, and still am, very concerned.
I had her blood drawn to test for Adrenal and am awaiting the results. The
only other odd occurrence is that the usually pink, fleshy parts of her
nails have turned red.

Her platelets haven't been checked because one of the vets put her on Amoxi
for the swallowing and congestion problems and a huge spleen (much larger
and harder than ever before) that was up a couple days after I first posted.
The vet said we'll have to wait until she finishes the antibiotic and
doesn't want to draw/test blood if gas has to be used, because, as per the
vet, gas causes inaccurate results.

I now have reservations about going back to the original vet because the
bruising was explained as a result of her moving around and playing, which
she did not do, and I certainly won't be taking her back to the one that
said it was caused by going through the jugular. It looks as though my only
choice may be six hours away, one way. She's more than worth it, I just want
to make sure putting her through the trip and visit is.

Thanks again.
