Internal and external bruising of my 5 yr. old female ferret JAWS that was in
good health prior, what would cause the brusing? She was fine the night before
but the next day she was laying at the bottom of her cage looking like she had
a stroke. When I picked her up she couldn't move anything on her right side
very well. As I rushed to get dressed to run her to my Vet. she died in my
daughters arms. I had a Necropsy and Histopathology done, neither one came
out pin pointing what was wrong. My Vet. said that all internal organs, tissues
and skin were bruised inside and out on her right side. He said from some sort
of trama, like a fall. But she had not fallen from anything and the inside of her
cage is 27 ins. from top to bottom if she were to fall in there and miss a
hammock in the fall. There was no scream or loud noise you would expect to
here if one fell.
What would cause this kind of bruising plus her death. This has been driving
me crazy since she died, I miss her so much!!
Thank you for your help. Jeanne
