I am assuming that you are referring to dilative cardiomyopathy which is the more common form of cardiomyopathy found in ferrets sicne that fits the symptoms.
Gail, there is a lot on dilative cardiomyopathy whihc can easily be found by searching for the word CARDIOMYOPATHY in the Complete FHL Archives which are at
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org.
You will find a compilation in the Files section at
http://www.smartgroups.com/vault/ferrethealth/cardiomyopathy.txt
which will also help and will aid you in finding other resources.
Your next step is a heart ultrasound for your little one. Meanwhile, share the past posts and other information with your vet and review the additional meds mentioned with your vet.
Send comments to Pam at pjdutche@email.unc.edu. Please note that this address is only useful for questions about the FHL archive. Questions about ferret health, or those intended for the FHL, should be sent to the Ferret Health List.
