Bandi is a recent rescue, I thought when she arrived she was pretty classic
for insulinoma but as I've found she is anything but classic. All I knew about
her when she arrived was that she was blind. She doesn't navigate the way my
other blind ferrets do in a new area (find the wall and walk along it), she
just sort of walks around bumping into things. The doctor is unsure why she
can't see, no cataracts, no trauma the doctor can't visualize anything looking
into the eye. She suggested perhaps lack of taurine. She tires easily and she
eats/drinks constantly. We did a bg (fasted her for 2 hours) and not only was
her blood sugar not low (high 90's), it was extremely lipemic. She moves her
bowels far more than any ferret I've ever had but it is normal looking stool,
not soft, no bird seed, normal brownish color. She's very gassy when going poop
and the smell is pretty bad. She seems very happy and comfortable and
oblivious to it all.
Any ideas what I should be looking for with Bandi?
