Our first ferret with adrenal surgery, Hjalmar, had a "stalled" second gland. In his case it was his left and it also appeared normal outwardly. That might be something like 15 years ago, I guess. (Hjalmar was among the first ferrets to use Florinef about the same time Dr. Bock was using it but they tried it independently, having given it because he was actively dying and it was just something to try in case it helped.) The Florinef turned him around within hours and within weeks his remaining adrenal gland had fired up. He didn't show Addison's symptoms right away, though. His began something like 24 to 48 hours after surgery. Sadly, his problem was lymphoma...
