Hey there. I just posted recently, now I am posting again. Just joined and as I am always worrying about one thing or another, you can expect to hear from me a lot!
Anyway yesterday I noticed that Frankie, my 1 year old boy ferret, had a small scratch on his fur under his chin and a little hair missing. I didn't think much of it. It wasn't bleeding out, but there was a little bit of stain on his fur so I think it may have been bleeding a touch. So, I wiped it with hydrogen peroxide and put a little Neosporin antibiotic cream on it. Today I noticed it was bleeding again and more hair was gone! The size of the spot with hair missing is maybe a little smaller than a dime. I think he is scratching himself to the point its bleeding...the only thing I can think of is that I clipped his nails the other day and maybe I left a scratchey edge? Or that him and Alvin were playing too rough and now hes scratching it cause its bothering him. Any other possibilities though? I THINK its a scratch but could it be some kind of insect bite?
