Hi,
I'm sorry to hear you have a sick baby. I'm no Vet. but I've had enough fuzzy
babies go thru alot of what yours is and if it were me I'd go to a 3rd. Vet. who
is very knowlegable on ferrets. Did either of the two Vet.'s you saw do an xray?
Last year on 5/8/02 I ran my little Oscar into my Vet. He was vomiting,
extreemly wobbly, very dehydrated and lathargic. He stayed the whole day at
the Vet. where he did an xray, ferret panel and blood glucose. The first blood
glucose was 27, he did another 6 hrs. later which was then 102 after he had
given him med.'s (ammox. & pred., and fluids under the skin too. He's been
taking Prednisolone 0.14ml once a day ever since then because he has
insulinoma. He is now 6 yrs. old and doing good.
If the Vet.'s you've seen can't find anything on their tests, I think you seeing a
3rd. Vet. would be a good idea. It couldn't hurt and maybe if they kept her all
day or even over nite to check her glucose through out the whole time she's
there something might show up so you would know whats wrong. Good luck
to you and your little sweet Sasha! I hope she feels better real soon!
