Someone pointed out to me that I may have left a little bit out of this (maybe the most important part). I will try to explain it as best I can, as I understand it.

Charley actually probably died from DIC (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation). That is when the clotting factor uses itself up and the person/animal bleeds out. DIC is caused from shock. The Addisons crisis brought on shock, which, in turn, brought on DIC.

I hope I explained that adequately. In any event, I think the key is to prevent the Addisons crisis from ever starting. The chain of events following that can then be prevented.

For those more knowledgeable than I, please feel free to correct me.
