I was asked to take a little boy in a couple of weeks ago. He had original=
ly come in through a wildlife rehab facility and had been either hit by som=
ething or attacked by a dog. Someone has had him in their home since that =
time. The person who had him could not provide what he needed any longer s=
o I was asked to take him. Since they had named him Mr. Ferret.....I renam=
ed him Sinclair.

Sinclair has an unusual problem (for me). It appears that he has either ki=
dney or bladder damage and a great deal of his urine is emptying into a cys=
t or sac within his body. It has to be drained with a needle (abdominocent=
esis). I have had him drained 4 times in two weeks, from a low of 80ml to =
a high of about 140ml. He was scheduled for surgery on Thursday but after =
Charley's death, and my vet spending all Wednesday night trying to save him=
, we postponed it until next week.

What urine reaches his bladder, he is able to expel normally. An x-ray and=
ultrasound has been done. Bloodwork shows normal kidney function so, if a=
kidney has to be removed, the other should be fine.

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas that might help my vet out. H=
as anyone seen this before? He did consult with a specialist about it when=
he was consulting about Charley. It was said it could be a prostatic (sp?=
) cyst but he doesn't think so. =

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Sinclair is only just about =
1 y.o. and deserves the best.
