I was reading some of the archives to see if I could figure out if brewer's yeast is good or bad for ferrets with insulinoma and I got kind of confused. I got that chromium is bad for ferrets with insulinoma (because it lower's the blood glucose) BUT:
- aren't the traces of chromium low in brewer's yeast?
- and doesn't the fact that it is high in protein, B vitamins, and minerals (other than chromium) make it good?
And also, I read that somebody disrecomended brewer's yeast and sugested "finding other ways to add B vitamins, protein
and trace minerals to a ferret's diet".
- what would some of these ways be??
Thank you all in advance, and some "official" Vet advice would be hightly apreciated,
Daphne
