I am glad he is better. Just like you feel the penis rerouting (PU)
would not be an option because won't solve the original
problem, either would the prostate removal, instead
you can put him on two meds, one for the adrenal ( lupron)
and one for the prostate ( something like proscar)
and if it is possible the best would be adrenal removal
as the surgery of choice.

If he completely blocked and couldnt' pee the best solution
would be to do the PU, he won't be miserable, in fact many
ferrets live a good life afterwards without any problems.

You may have to learn how to express his bladder so he can
empty it a bit better.
