I have a really sick old timer named Cecil. Cecil has had bad diarrhea now for 8 months or so now. Imodium and Kaopectate worked at first but has little effect now. The vet has tried Pred, Enrofloxacin, Sulfadimethoxine, Sucralfate and now he is on Dexamethasone and he's not showing any improvement. He will not eat Kibble of any type that I have tried (10 different ones) he doesn't care for chicken but loves beef in beef juice. His BG levels are +/- 85 on a given day and he is small (skinny) but when he wants to go on a house walk he does. His stool is liquid with little consistency and dark in color.
Has anyone else had or seen this problem before and if so how was it treated? Is it his colon, IBS, bad stomach or what, his vet is a very good ferret vet but doesn't know what to think without looking on the inside. I don't want him to vapor lock on the table being around 8 yrs old now.
Please help.
