I don't believe that a modified live virus can give the disease, since
it is modified to actually be non-virulent, and unable to cause disease.
However, a vet could answer that one best.
In the meantime, instead of worrying this time, and because you could
just bring distemper in or get it while at the vets, at a show, at place
where other ferrets/dogs are, it is best to vaccinate the ferrets and
keep them up to date annually.
