my 10 month old ferret, kakarot, has not been acting himself for about 2.5 =
months now. he sleeps a lot more (even for a ferret), and has little energ=
y. about a month ago, i got another ferret, odo. they get along well, and=
kakarot likes him as far as i can tell. they play together, usually with =
kakarot standing or laying in one spot while odo bounces around the room, o=
ccasionally play attacking kakarot. kakarot will play back, and they roll =
around, as ferrets tend to do. kakarot's stool is normal, although in the =
past week he does seem to be eating less. i have taken him to the vet seve=
ral times in the past few weeks over the matter. the vet said that when sh=
e listened to his breathing, it sounded like he had some fluid in his lungs=
. we have taken x-rays, and even gone so far as to take him to a cardiolog=
ist (veterinary). his heart is fine. he was on amilicillin for 2 weeks, a=
fter which the vet said she didn't hear anything wrong with his breathing a=
nymore. however, he is still acting the same. she put him on pregnazone, =
and he has been on that for 2.5 days now. still no change. she said his p=
roblem may be allergies. does anyone have any clue what kakarot's problem =
may be? any ideas that i can discuss with my vet would be helpful.
