With all of my ferrets who have been adrenal I have noticed the
redistribution of fat to their abdomen creating a pear shape. After
surgery their shape returned to normal. Also on my guys and gals who had
only one gland removed, when the other kicked in and needed to be removed,
they would bulge on just that side.
I'm not sure of the reason but another posted about fat surrounding the
gland, that makes sense to me. Anyway, every ferret that I have had that
was adrenal had this redistribution of fat. It was not so obvious in my
females...they just became fat little mooses who would lay around alot.
